What our camera insurance covers

  • Impact damage to bodies, lenses and mounts
  • Moisture, sand and dust ingress
  • Theft on location or from a vehicle
  • Accidental damage to screens and viewfinders
  • Worldwide cover for travel and work

The glass usually carries the value

Camera bodies depreciate steadily while good lenses hold their value for years, which means a photographer with two or three quality lenses is carrying most of their money in the parts that stick out and get knocked. Insuring the body alone leaves the majority of the kit uncovered.

Weather sealing resists, it does not prevent

A sealed body handles rain and dust better than an unsealed one, and no manufacturer treats moisture damage as a warranty repair on any camera regardless of the rating.

Why Dynamo

Cover that works the way you do

Lenses as well as bodies

Good glass outlives and often outvalues the camera it sits on, so it belongs on the policy rather than being left off it.

Impact damage

Tripod falls, dropped bags and knocks on rock account for most claims, and mount damage in particular is expensive to put right.

Moisture and sand

Coastlines, festivals and ski slopes are where the photographs are and where the cameras die, and none of that is warranty work.

Theft on location

Kit is taken from cars, venues, hotels and campsites, and a stolen body or lens is replaced with the same model.

Every major brand

Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic and GoPro equipment is covered, including cinema bodies and action cameras.

Older kit included

Professional bodies stay capable for many years, and there is no age limit stopping older equipment going on cover.
