What our Nikon insurance covers
- Impact damage to bodies and lenses
- Moisture and sand ingress
- Theft, including from a vehicle or on location
- Shutter and mirror damage caused by an accident
- Cover worldwide, wherever you are shooting
The lens is often worth more than the body
Nikon glass holds its value for decades in a way bodies never do, which means a five year old Z6 with an S line zoom on the front is carrying most of its value in the part sticking out. Insuring the camera and forgetting the lens is the commonest mistake photographers make.
Cameras go where cameras get destroyed
Coastlines, festivals, ski slopes and the back of moving vehicles are where photographs are taken and where cameras die, and no manufacturer warranty covers a body that went into the sea or a lens that took a fall onto rock.
Why Dynamo
Cover that works the way you do
Lenses as well as bodies
Nikon glass frequently outlasts and outvalues the camera it is mounted on, so make sure the lenses are on the policy rather than just the body.
Impact damage
A camera that falls onto rock or concrete rarely lands gently, and mount damage, cracked screens and broken lens barrels are all covered.
Moisture and sand
Weather sealing on a Z body is a resistance rating rather than a seal, and neither sand nor salt water is a warranty matter with any manufacturer.
Theft on location
Camera bags are taken from cars, hotels and festival tents, and a stolen body or lens is replaced with the same model.
The whole range
Z mirrorless bodies, the D series DSLRs, the Coolpix compacts and the KeyMission action cameras.
Older bodies too
A D750 or D850 remains an entirely capable camera years after release, and there is no age limit stopping one going on cover.
