What our MacBook Pro insurance covers
- Liquid damage, the claim that ends more MacBooks than anything else
- Screen damage, including cracked and delaminated displays
- Accidental damage, including drops in a bag or off a desk
- Theft, replaced with the same configuration
- Cover wherever you work, at home, in an office or abroad
Why a spill is worse than a drop
On current MacBook Pros the memory and storage are soldered to the logic board, so a liquid spill that reaches the board is not a component swap but a replacement of the most expensive part of the machine, and with it any data that was not backed up. That is the claim we see most, and it is the one people assume their home policy handles.
If it earns its living, check the business policy
Commercial policies often restrict portable equipment to the registered address and cap single items below what a specified Pro costs, so if your MacBook travels to clients or between offices, standalone cover closes that gap without putting your business claims history at risk.
Why Dynamo
Cover that works the way you do
Liquid damage
A spill that reaches the logic board on a modern MacBook Pro takes the memory and storage with it because both are soldered down, which turns a moment of clumsiness into the most expensive repair Apple offers.
Screen and hinge damage
Closing a Pro on a pen or a cable is enough to crack a display, and because the panel is a sealed assembly the repair is a replacement rather than a fix, all of which is covered.
Drops and impacts
Whether it went off a desk, out of a bag or down a set of stairs, accidental damage is covered as many times as it happens while the policy is running.
Theft while travelling
MacBooks are taken from cars, cafes, co-working desks and hotel rooms, and where yours is stolen we replace it with the same screen size, chip and storage configuration.
Cover once AppleCare has expired
AppleCare runs out and cannot be bought again, whereas our cover can start at any point in the machine’s life, which is exactly when a four year old Pro becomes worth insuring.
Monthly, with no tie-in
Cover is billed monthly alongside anything else you insure with us and can be stopped next month from the portal without a fee*.

Yes, and it is the claim we handle most often on MacBooks, which matters because no manufacturer warranty treats a spill as a covered fault.
Yes, the cover does not change with how you use the machine, though it is worth checking your business policy first so you are not paying for the same thing twice.
Yes, there is no age limit, and older machines are often the ones most worth covering because AppleCare has long since expired on them.
The policy covers the hardware rather than the data on it, so a current backup is still worth keeping, and we will repair or replace the machine itself.
We replace it with the same model and configuration, and every replacement comes with a full warranty.
